Selected Works on Paper 2012-2025
Selected Work by Bridget Caramagna
The collection of casein and acrylic paintings on vintage graph paper represent a quiet intuitive stream of consciousness practice spanning over a decade. Known for her elegant and precise geometric paintings that create optical effects of space and light these small works are the inspirations for the mechanics of a larger practice.
Bridget Caramagna was born in Ridgewood, NJ in 1974, and became dedicated to making art in her childhood. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union in 1996 and her MFA from Yale University in 1998, where she was awarded the Ralph Mayer Prize for Achievement. After graduate school, she moved to New York City and participated in numerous group shows, as well as her first solo show, “In a Program of Modern Mystery” in 2000 with Bellwether Gallery. She continued participating in various group shows internationally in Berlin, Mexico City, and the United States. Other solo shows include “Cryptogeometry” in Beacon, NY, 2008, “Trees” in Beacon, NY, 2014, and “Phenomena” in Wenham, MA in 2016. In 2020, she had a two person show at Mother Gallery in Beacon, NY, titled “finally Golden” with friend and artist Brian Bellott. In 2020, she was spotlighted as an artist to watch in Chronogram Magazine, and her paintings were most recently featured at Future Fair, NY. Her work has always explored the mystical and transcendent nature of consciousness.
